Global Session Expiration Settings

You can customize the console time-out period for each zone. To access the global session settings for a zone, go to the Global View → Setup & Configuration page.

Prerequisites: You must have the required permissions to perform this action. See Roles and Permissions.

Session Expiration

As a global administrator, you can view the default settings for session expiration (also known as console timeout).

  1. From the console, select the Manage Zones and Users > Setup & Configuration page for the zone you want to configure.
  2. Select the Settings tab.

Maximum Session Lifetime

The maximum session lifetime is the amount of time that a session can exist before the session is terminated and the user must log in again. The maximum is 90 days (2160 hours).

The default maximum session timeout is 12 hours.

Idle Session Timeout

The idle session timeout is the amount of time a session can exist without user input (inactivity) before the session is terminated and the user must log in again. The maximum is 30 days (720 hours).

The default idle session timeout is 30 minutes.

Configuring Session Expiration

You can edit the default settings for the session expiration.

  1. To change the default settings for session expiration, click in the hours and minutes fields and enter the desired settings.
  2. Click Update to save the changes.
