Configuring Software on a Device
You can configure how to update software on your devices
A subset of Assets, a general term denoting anything that runs the Automox Agent and is registered with the system. from the Device Details
Per-device information page (hardware, OS, patches, software) page. You can configure actions for individual or multiple software patches
A software security or stability update. on a device.
Configuring Individual Software Patches on a Device
You can take the following actions to configure the software patches available on a device.
- Go to the Devices page.
- Click the name of the device to open the Device Details page.
- From the Software section, you can use the Filter field to search for software.
- Click the Bulk Actions drop-down list associated with the software. See the following table for details.
Note: When you select an action, you must confirm any action selected.
The following table describes the possible configuration actions you can apply to individual software.

Roll Back |
If available, this means you can downgrade the software selected. |

Patch |
If a patch is available, select Patch Now to update to the available version. |

Ignore |
This ignores any available updates. Note: Perform a scan on the device after selecting this option to ensure it is recorded on the device. |

Defer |
If a version is available, select Defer and enter a date to resume the patch. |
|
Use Global Setting |
The package patches in the next patch window for the policy that governs it. |
Configuring Multiple Software Patches on a Device
You can select an action that applies to multiple available software patches for a device.
- Go to the Devices page.
- Click the name of the device to open the Device Details page.
- From the Software section, you can select the checkbox for multiple individual packages, or select all on the current page.
- You can use the page selector to change the number of packages displayed on one page. The maximum number is 100.
- Click the Bulk Actions drop-down list. Refer to the previous table for details about these actions.
- Select the action to apply. In the actions message window, you can see a list of all packages selected for that action. Confirm your selection.
- You can then apply this action to more packages by scrolling to the next page of packages.
