Agent 2.4.42 Release Notes

Summary

Agent 2.4.42 is a hotfix that addresses bugs related to Windows Modern Standby (S0 Network Disconnected). While the agent was running on a Windows device in low power mode and the OS network stack was powered off, the agent would continue to try to reconnect to the Automox platform. These persistent network calls would cause the OS to crash the agent on certain devices. The agent would at times also have trouble starting back up because it was shut down uncleanly.

Improvements

  • This agent can install or update without requiring the installation of VBSCRIPT Windows (optional feature).

Bugfixes

  • Improved agent's shutdown and handling of shutdown signaling.
  • Ensured that Windows named pipe resources are cleaned up on shutdown.
  • Added back-offs around IPC startup if a failure occurs during initial connection and setup.
  • Added back-offs around Websocket dialing to ensure that requests are not overly sent.
  • Fixed a bug with worklet reboots, where every second Reboot command would be ignored regardless of whether it was out of band or not.
